10th Annual CARE Day
Register Here.
We are excited to invite you to this year’s CARE Day to be held at Camp Farley, Route 130 in Mashpee. Founded in 1934, this non-profit 501(c)3 organization offers both day and overnight camping opportunities boasting a strong environmental focus with comprehensive outdoor education experiences in the context of a traditional camp setting.
Please join us as help the camp gear up for another busy season. We’ll spend the morning doing hands on tasks such as landscaping, gardening and painting. Then we’ll all enjoy lunch together and hear from the recipients of CARE’s 2024 project grants.

Marine Debris Shark Sculpture Unveiling-World Ocean Day
11 am
Herring Cove Beach, Provincetown, MA
Please join Cape Cod National Seashore, Center for Coastal Studies, and Cindy Pease Roe from UpSculpt to celebrate a new sculpture making its grand debut at Herring Cove Beach. The sculpture was made entirely from marine debris found on seashore beaches by Center for Coastal Studies “Beach Brigade” volunteers and brought to life in the shape of an Atlantic white shark by artist Cindy Pease Roe. Whether you are an art lover, a shark lover, a defender of the environment, or just love Herring Cove, please join us to commemorate this project funded by the NOAA Marine Debris Program!
Parking is free and available at Herring Cove Beach. The ceremony will take place adjacent to the sculpture at the Herring Cove Beach bathhouse. In the event of bad weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors at the Province Lands Visitor Center.
Other ways to celebrate the oceans today and every day:
- Clean up a beach or your neighborhood
- Choose reusable items instead of single use
- Add a filter to your washing machine to catch fibers
- Donate to an organization focused on environmental issues
- Eat a vegetarian diet
